As our nation deals with a very serious health crisis, The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina is undertaking temporary measures to help limit possible exposure to individuals seeking bankruptcy relief, which will allow individuals to still file for bankruptcy protection without the need for leaving their homes.
Divorce, loss of income, and serious illness are the top reasons that people come to our office seeking assistance with their finances, and we understand the circumstances we are dealing with may lead people to experience financial hardships.
As our office remains open to help individuals during this time, we are undertaking certain measures to promote the recommended social distancing guidelines. During this time, we will schedule appointments by phone or video conference. We are able to share our desktop screen during meetings so we can review your case and your documents with you. If you need to drop off documents, please let us know. We accept documents by email and fax, and can recommend programs that can help you scan and send these documents easily. If you would like to mail documents, or drop them off through the mail drop on our door, please call or text us to let us know in advance.
If you are having trouble making your Chapter 13 payments, please contact us to set up a virtual meeting to review your options.
If you are experiencing a financial hardship, or having trouble paying your creditors back during this time, please call or text our office to set up a free consultation. Our office is located in Charleston, SC, but can assist residents throughout South Carolina. Our office cell phone number is (803) 386-8868.
We look forward to continuing to serve you as we all take precautions to remain safe and healthy!
