Register to vote now. Time is short. If you are a convicted felon and have completed your sentence, including probation and parole, you are eligible to vote. However you must submit a new voter registration application.

Registered voters can vote in-person, vote absentee in person or absentee by mail. Here's what you need to know.

September 28 - County elections offices are open for in-person absentee voting
October 2 - Deadline to register in person to vote in the Nov 3 election (if not already registered to vote)
October 4 11:59pm - Deadline to register on line to vote in the Nov 3 election
October 5 - Deadline to register to vote by mail in the Nov 3 election
October 30 5:00pm - Deadline to apply for absentee ballot by mail (but please don't wait this long if you're planning to vote by mail)
October 31 - This is the last Saturday before the election and county elections offices will be open for in person absentee voting
November 2 5:00pm - The last day to vote in person absentee at the county elections office or satellite
November 3 - ELECTION DAY! Polls will be open, safe, clean, and socially distanced - 7am - 7pm

Please note that if you're planning to vote by mail, the postage will be free this year; however, you can also return your ballot personally to the county elections office.

The State: SC company denies sick leave, then fires employee. Now it must pay, officials say.

A South Carolina man fired after he requested leave for a medical condition and was denied, is getting $34,000 from the company which violated the Family and Medical Leave Act, the U.S. Department of Labor said.
