From the Babylon Bee:

With last night's polarizing State of the Union, President Trump continued fracturing the country with pointed rhetoric designed only to widen the chasm between the country's left and right. From the many awful things Trump said, here are the eight most divisive statement's from last night's speech:

"Good evening": Trump wasted no time in tearing the country apart with this contentious opening.

"Congratulations to the gold medal-winning U.S. hockey team": A team that literally fought our own ally, Canada. Conflict is the goal.

"The American government is responsible for serving Americans": Trump could have brought unity. Instead, he brought this.

"We should not hurt children": Fomenting discord with radical statements, like always.

"Violent crime is bad": Another gr***de of disunity lobbed at America.

"Thank you to our wounded veterans for their service": It's like Trump wants nothing but to stir controversy.

"Female refugees being killed on trains is wrong": Why must Trump insist on driving us apart?

"God bless America": Trump is literally asking us to fight each other.

Our country stands more divided than ever in the wake of Trump's belligerent antagonism. It is on all of us to rise above his rhetoric and find national healing.

I just spoke with an older client who has been asked to provide $5,000 so that he/she will win a sweepstakes. I told them to say no and have them call me to show me that it is good.

This is a fraud. Talk to the older people in your life and warn them that "if it sounds too good to be true." it is and to run the other way and make the solicitor convince a trusted advisor before they will talk again.

You will save your friend, loved one or older person, a lot of pain.

I have dealt with many people solicitng money from people and they sound so convincing. But it never works out.

U.S. Companies and Individuals EXEMPT from
Beneficial Ownership Reporting Rules per FinCEN & New Deadlines Set for Foreign Entities

On the heels of the U.S. Department of the Treasury's March 2nd, announcement, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has issued an interim final rule eliminating the requirement for U.S. companies and individuals to report beneficial ownership information (BOI) under the Corporate Transparency Act.

This rule redefines "reporting company" in FinCEN's regulations to include only entities formed under foreign laws that have registered to conduct business within the U.S. by filing documentation with a secretary of state or an equivalent office. These entities, formerly referred to as "foreign reporting companies," are now the sole reporting companies.

In short, US entities previously categorized as "domestic reporting companies" are no longer required to report and their beneficial owners are exempt from BOI reporting obligations.

Foreign entities that meet the new criteria for "reporting company" and are not eligible for exemptions must comply with updated BOI reporting deadlines. However, these entities are not required to disclose U.S. persons as beneficial owners, and U.S. persons are likewise not obligated to report BOI for any such foreign entity in which they are beneficial owners. For further details, visit: FinCEN's official announcement.

This is a huge step for freedom and privacy.

For those interested in the impact of judicial philosophy. Typically, when we go to court, we are asking the court to uphold principles of law that we rely on to govern our conduct. Should courts be in the business of making new law?

Democrats are in an awful tizzy at the prospect of the pending confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. Their consternation is understandable, given the potential policy implications, but it is worth considering that a Supreme Court appointment only bears major policy implications…
