Great week for clients here at The Gordon Law Office. Large 6 figure settlement for 2 personal injury clients. The matter was being set down for trial and finally the Insurance Company determined that there was no choice but to FAIRLY COMPENSATE EACH of the plaintiffs in these cases.
Criminal Client was facing misdemeanor charges which would have caused issues with employment and had other criminal ramifications. The client retained the office and trusted the handling of this file and the results were better than expected. The plea was to a VIOLATION not a crime and minor fines were imposed and the clients cases were closed.
These are only a few of the cases that were handled this week but for each client is not only business but it is PERSONAL.
THE VOICE OF VICTIM will listen to the client and assess the facts of EACH case on a case by case basis. We are here for you.

Last week was another busy week in The Gordon Law Office:: Handled a speeding and VTL ticket for client and was able to obtain a very favorable disposition with no points on his license and the client who immediately went and gave the office a very nice review. That was very much appreciated. The Gordon Law Office looks to obtain favorable results for all our clients.

Exciting Week for a criminal client in this office, who i thank for the great review and more importantly being satisfied and placing her trust in my office. **TRIAL RESULTS Orange County Jury deliberated for less than 15 minutes and returned a verdict of NOT GUILTY on ALL FELONY Charges of Aggravated DWI under Leandra law and all vehicle and traffic allegations. Client who was facing STATES PRISON, rejected a lower offer of a misdemeanor with no jail but probation said NO, insisting she will not plead guilty to something she did not do. Trial commenced and lasted 4 days State Troopers testified to defendant committing traffic violation which led to pulling her over and after a brief conversation had her undergo field sobriety tests which she supposedly failed then was asked to submit to a portable breath test which she consented to but the trooper testified that she failed by conduct, defendant was arrested and charged with serious Felony charges and her license was taken away. At trial defendant testified and had witnesses testify that she was the designated driver and did not consume any alcoholic beverages that night and was wrongfully pulled over with her 6 year old son in the car. Jury did not believe that she was intoxicated and sent a message with a quick NOT GUILTY verdict. All driving privileges will be returned and charges are now dismissed. The Voice of the Victim is here for all our clients and will fight for your rights. Thanks for the confidence in our office.

Thank you to the hardworking students at Monroe Woodbury High School who presented to me this lovely plaque and thank you card for coaching their moot court competition. This team worked hard and came in 2nd in the county! Everyone in the program had real talent and energy and were receptive to guidance and instruction on trial prep and trial competition. I already committed to assist again this coming year. I love being able to give back to our great community.

Just received a message on this Sunday morning that i wanted to share: My office represented a young man on a DWAI. this was a first offense for him with a low reading no accident, no injury, and the reading was just over the minimum in NY for a DWAI OF .05 the legal reading for a DWAI (under .08%). (a DWI would be over a .08%) He was referred to this office. The family was very involved in the handling of the case and cooperated and did exactly what New York State required and what i asked them to do. The young man was in college at the time he was arrested and wanted to attend Law School upon graduating which was in a year. The prosecutor understood what was at stake and this young man had learned from this incident and wore a scram bracelet and was free from alcohol for one year and attended education classes on alcohol. The defendant was allowed to plead guilty to a NON ALCOHOL traffic offense instead of a alcohol violation which would be on his license and more importantly on his RECORD for ever. Today i was advised that this young man scored in the 94th percentile in the country on the LSAT (the exam to enter law-school) He will be attending a top law school next year. The family wanted to thank my office for making sure that this case did not ruin a young mans life. Alcohol and driving DON'T mix and create a danger to innocent people. Every case must be looked at and age and experience must be weighted as well. I am so happy and this made my day. These are the stories that make practicing law worth it. The court, the District Attorney and my office working together to make a difference in someone life and giving a second chance.

UPDATE: This week our office had some exciting developments:
Personal injury case: Client and his wife were involved in a serious motor vehicle accident and each client suffered serious injury due to someone else's negligence. The carrier would not agree to the demand to resolve fairly as to each client. An expert retained by my office reviewed the case issued a report and within 2 days the carrier settled the case for an amount that fairly compensated each client and both clients were extremely happy with the result.
Criminal Law: This week we had 2 clients who received offers to resolve the cases against them. In each case the client had thought we were going toward a trial on serious Felony charges and in each case in separate courts the client received an offer to plead guilty to a violation and not a crime to resolve each respective case. Needless to say both clients were extremely happy and relieved that they were not facing Felony charges and would not have a record arising out of each incident.
These results make this a successful week. One case at a time one client at a time.
