It's time for another Employee Spotlight featuring our Estate Administration Paralegal, Hallie Ellerbrock!

Hallie joined our team in July 2022 as a paralegal in our Estate Administration department, where she assists clients with navigating the probate court system following the death of a loved one. In addition to handling probate estates in counties across the state of Ohio, Hallie also helps clients through the trust administration process. Hallie is one of the kindest humans you'll ever meet, which makes her a true gift to her clients who are walking through difficult times.

Hallie grew up in Oakwood and then attended Kalamazoo College as an undergraduate and earned her Master’s of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Hallie and her husband, John, have four children in Springboro Schools, which keeps their family super busy. On the weekends, she enjoys camping with her family, as well as knitting, listening to podcasts and running.

While we hope your family does not need Hallie's services anytime soon, we take great pride in knowing that we have such a capable paralegal leading our estate administration team.

We are bringing back our employee spotlights this week and we are so excited to share about our wonderful Medicaid Manager, Jennifer Patton!

Jen is a Dayton native who enjoys raising her two boys, spending time with friends and family and being a dog mom to the family’s two papillions -Hermes & Bon Jovi. She earned her undergraduate degree from Wright State University in Human Resource Management, and also holds a master’s degree in Management from The McGregor School at Antioch University.

After joining OELG in 2021 as our Medicaid Manager, Jen's responsibilities have evolved through the years. While she continues to focus much of her time on assisting our Medicaid clients, she now also serves as our firm community liaison. Jen attends various networking groups and other events on behalf of OELG, and she has done a tremendous job representing our team in the community.

Above all else, anyone who knows Jen knows that she leads with patience and compassion. She loves working with clients and forming relationships where her contributions can make a true difference in their lives - and any client who has met with Jen will confidently tell you that she has done exactly that.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than to announce the birth of attorney Maddy Batley’s first baby, Jamie Edward Heckman! Mom, baby, and Dad are doing great, and we are all thrilled to welcome sweet Jamie to the world!

Happy Mother’s Day to the many mamas in our firm, as well as to our clients and our own mothers. These women are raising the hope for our future, and we gladly celebrate them every day!

We were so proud of Kayla for stepping out of her comfort zone to speak on a panel at the Ohio State Bar Association Elder Law Institute in Columbus today! She crushed it (and Kim did great as a moderator as well). The panel focused on practical tips to help attorneys maximize the use of support staff in their offices — and how to keep them happy in the process.

We know we wouldn’t be able to do a fraction of what we do without our phenomenal support staff!!

The family of our beloved paralegal, Hallie, suffered a tragic loss this week. Hallie’s brother-in-law, Matt Schmidt, died in a house fire in Upper Arlington on Sunday morning. Hallie’s sister, Becky, and their three daughters thankfully made it out of the fire safely — but they are now grieving the loss of their home, on top of the heavy loss of their husband and father. We are heartbroken for the Schmidt family and all who loved Matt. We are so excited to celebrate the fabulous Jeannine Cromwell for our employee spotlight of the week.

Jeannine joined our team in 2019 as a Legal Assistant. She graduated from the University of Dayton in 2002 with a bachelors in education. She taught elementary school for 10 years until the birth of her twins in 2012.

At OELG, Jeannine is a behind the scenes face that helps keep our office running smoothly. She is responsible for handling the high volume of deeds that we send off for recording each week, and she also manages our Legal Vault enrollments. Though she is not a client facing member of our team, she is a vital piece of the OELG puzzle and we absolutely love the kindness and humor that she shares with her coworkers each day.

In her free time, Jeannine loves hiking, watching her children play sports and star gazing. She worked for NASA’s education department at Edwards Air Force Base in California, where she found her love for outer space and outdoor adventure.
