Someone going through a divorce or custody case once told us the hardest part wasn't the paperwork โ it was feeling like she had to be perfect while her life was falling apart. The patient co-parent. The one who never loses it in front of the kids. The one who "wins" by being more reasonable than the other side.
That pressure to perform doesn't take a break just because your case is hard.
We came across a book that isn't about family law at all, but it speaks straight to that exhaustion: The Power of Enoughness: Breaking Free From the Pressure to Perform, by Stephanie Rosebaugh, LMFT โ a licensed marriage and family therapist, ultrarunner, wife, and mother writing about the moving finish line of "enough," and how to stop chasing it. Her line for it: one breath, one step, enough.

Heads up going in: it's openly faith-centered, so you'll know what you're getting. But the tools on boundaries, guilt, and untangling your worth from your performance hold up regardless of where you're coming from.
This isn't legal advice, and it's not a replacement for anything you're working through with your attorney or your therapist. It's just a good reminder that you were a whole person before this case started โ and you'll still be one when it's over.
