Starting Monday, July 27,2026, we will be requiring a $65.00 consultation fee up front before we can reserve a slot on the schedule. We have had several people who have made appointments and then do not show up. Spots are limited due to court dates and busy schedules and we hate to do this, but to help those who need Sam's help get on the schedule quickly, this is what we have decided to do. If you come in and meet with Sam and decide to hire him, we will take that consultation fee off the total amount.

Who would win: a smalltown attorney or a big debt collection firm?

Today Sam had the privilege of defending a local client against an aggressive debt collection firm during a contested hearing in Sharp County. The client had already paid almost thirteen thousand dollars on a five thousand dollar debt since 2003, and despite this, the company maintained that the client still owed over eight thousand dollars in fees and interest.

The outcome of the hearing: the judge not only decared the client's debt satisfied, but awarded judgement and attorney fees to the client totaling over five thousand dolllars.

Here's hoping the company pays that asap. I hear that post-judgment interest is a killer. 😁

Over the next two weeks, Sam will be on military drill and will be working remotely. Candy or Nicole will be in the office daily to check phones and emails, but our office hours will vary to accommodate his time away. We will be scheduling phone consults with him starting at 4:00 p.m. and lasting until 6:30 p.m. If you need our services, call and leave a voicemail and we will call you back.
