In fact, house prices rose in 66 of the 100 largest metropolitan areas over the past four quarters. Notably, Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, PA-NJ saw an impressive annual growth of 8.9%, while Cape Coral-Fort Myers, FL experienced a decline of 9.1%.

Interestingly, six out of nine census divisions reported year-over-year increases, with the East North Central division leading the charge at a 5% increase. However, the Mountain division faced a slight decline of 0.2%.

Despite the slower momentum in price gains, tight inventory continues to support home values, particularly for entry-level homes.
