A wonderful beginning for WoMAN โ Women of the Midwest Alternatives Network!
Last Tuesday, October 6, we celebrated the ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ด๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐ช๐ผ๐ ๐๐ก ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐น๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ผ๐ป, bringing together more than 20 women leaders from across Chicago's alternative investment community at the beautiful 3 Arts Club Cafรฉ at RH Chicago.
Founded by Anna Miller of Akram | Assurance, Advisory & Tax Firm, Hanna Kulavic of Apex Group Ltd, and Monica Blocker of Houlihan Capital, WoMAN was created to strengthen connections among women working across the Midwest alternatives ecosystem- from investment managers and allocators to fund administrators, legal, accounting, advisory and other professional services.
Our first gathering was all about making new connections, strengthening existing relationships, exchanging ideas and creating opportunities to support one another. We believe the Midwest has an incredible community of women in alternatives, and WoMAN is about bringing that community closer together.
Our venue made the occasion especially meaningful. The historic Three Arts Club was originally established in the early 1900s as a supportive residence for women pursuing careers in music, drama and the visual arts. The landmark building, constructed in 1914, was beautifully restored and reimagined by RH in 2015. More than a century after its original purpose was established, it felt especially fitting to bring together another generation of women focused on connection, opportunity and supporting one another's success.
A special thank-you to all the women who joined us and helped make our inaugural event such a success!
And this is just the beginning! We plan to continue bringing women together through a variety of networking and community-building events across the Midwest.
