I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to provide you with a brief update on recent developments in the real estate industry, particularly concerning the proposed changes following the National Association of Realtors (NAR) settlement announcement on March 15, 2024.
Please be assured that buyer-broker compensation is not being eliminated; the process is evolving. Key future changes include modifications in how commission is communicated and paid. Importantly, the ability for sellers to offer concessions via MLS that could include Buyer Broker Compensation remains, although it will be subject to negotiation within the purchase contract. To help clarify, here is a two-page summary of the 108-page document we studied this weekend. We understand changes can be confusing, and we're here to navigate these together.
