According to the Governor’s “shelter in place” order currently effective through to April 6, 2020, legal services are recognized as an essential service. This means our firm remains open for the foreseeable future, although we have made some changes. However, in our opinion, some legal services are more “essential” than others.
At this time, most courts are still in session. Some hearings are by phone or are for counsel to appear only. Please ask your attorney specifically for your upcoming hearing whether you are supposed to appear. As of March 24th, Stark County Family Court hearings are cancelled until April 6th, except for emergencies.
Because of the pandemic, we have limited staffing. While our staff is still working, we are keeping access to the public to a minimum. Therefore, you may have to leave a voice mail message at our office number (330-452-6773). We will do our best at returning your calls.
Most importantly, we are committed to taking every required precaution available to keeping our clients, our staff and ourselves healthy and safe. Client meetings are still available in the office, if absolutely necessary or desired. However, we do have the capability to serve you via phone or video-conferencing, which under the circumstances seems preferable. If you do need to come into the office, rest assured we are taking recommended cleaning precautions.
