Here is an interesting article about how Courts have been forced into utilizing technology in an effort to keep the wheels of justice turning; and some of the more comical outcomes.

Problems big, small and ridiculous have popped up as courts practice social distancing to manage the pandemic. As the kinks get worked out, virtual court may point the way to a fairer and more efficient justice system.

Today I was sworn in as an Assistant Magistrate Judge in Cherokee County, Georgia. It is an honor to be chosen for this position and I look forward to serving the citizens of Cherokee County and the State of Georgia. I am also excited that this position allows me to serve as a part time judicial officer while still carrying on my private practice as a lawyer. As you can see in the photos, the attendance at the swearing in was limited to judicial and court staff in observance of COVID-19 precautions. Thank you again to everyone who encouraged me to do this. A special thanks to Judge Drane, Judge Douds and Judge Woods for making today happen.
