Free People Immigration

Free People Immigration We're a travel and immigration law site doing what we can to foster and promote the movement of people about the globe. It’s a small world, right? Right. GO. STAY.

Except for the part about how big it really is. (Sorry, computers!)

And then there’s the not-so-insignificant fact that every nation on earth has in place a legal regime which regulates who can be admitted, for what purpose, for how long a time, and under what if any conditions. There are always conditions. Free People Immigration means to do what it can to foster and promote the movement of peopl

e about the globe. We encourage our Visitors to get out into the world: Go and see something, go and do something, meet people! And experience what in fact is the earth’s continued vastness, its mystery and its magic. And in keeping with that aim we mean also to provide as much information as possible regarding the chief impediment to global human movement not called time or money, namely, the laws governing travel and immigration. We’d like people to get free. We think it helps to get smart. And we think it’s smart to get help when help’s needed. So while it’s true that Free People Immigration is dedicated foremost to the efforts of self-helpers, we realize that there are times when one absolutely should consult with an immigration lawyer, and others when one would be little short of wise to actually engage a lawyer’s services. Why might you need an immigration lawyer? First: An immigration lawyer is an expert at immigration law; you’re probably not. Thus in order to do the work yourself you’ve got to be willing to take the time to study it and to make the effort to do it well. For in immigration law, no less than in tax law, mistakes can be costly. Second, and another time-related reason: Maybe you’re already on the fly! Maybe you’re between, say, Mexico and New Zealand and have a question about entering at port in either place. Probably makes sense to consult with a lawyer. Third: Immigration laws are also exclusionary. Say you’d like to travel but you’ve got a DUII in your past; say you want to travel but at some point or other in your life you’ve been convicted of unlawful possession of a controlled substance; say you want not just to travel but to immigrate, but you haven’t filed taxes or registered for the draft: Well, to put it plainly, you should probably talk to a lawyer. At Free People Immigration you’ll find the resources you’ll need to do it yourself, and you’ll also have a lawyer at the ready. You can get a one-time consultation for a one-time fee; or you can get a lawyer’s help in preparing whatever petition or application you have to file to get where you wish to be; or you can actually engage a lawyer to handle the entire effort for you and to stand with you before whatever government agency lies between you and your aims.
