In a recent interview with Experts in Depth, our founding attorney Ellen Sullivan breaks down how marriage‑based green cards can be a strategic option for international academics — offering more flexibility and career mobility than employment‑based visas and allowing scholars to pursue opportunities without being tied to a single employer.

Ellen explains how permanent residency can reshape career paths and personal lives for educators and researchers navigating the U.S. immigration system.

TPS provides safety and stability for people from countries experiencing war, violence, or natural disasters. It allows holders to stay in the U.S., work legally, and support their families.

But TPS is temporary. In 2026, protections for many, including individuals from Burma, Haiti, Ethiopia, and Somalia, are ending or under review. Losing TPS can mean loss of work authorization, legal status, and exposure to removal proceedings.

If you hold TPS, it’s important to:
- Confirm your country’s designation and end date
- Understand your legal options, including family-based or employment pathways
- Plan ahead before your work authorization or status expires

At Cambridge Immigration Law, we guide TPS holders step by step, helping families protect their futures.

Luck isn’t what brings people here. It’s courage, perseverance, and hope.

That's what brought my elementary-school educated grandparents from Ireland to Boston where they raised two sons. My father graduated from MIT, Northeastern, and Tufts and practiced medicine for almost 50 years. My uncle graduated from Boston College, was a Vietnam veteran, and was a leader at the Massachusetts Office for Refugees and Immigrants.

On St. Patrick’s Day, we celebrate the Irish and all immigrants who make the U.S. home, each journey shaped by courage, perseverance, and the hope of a brighter future

Immigrants don’t just rely on luck, they build communities, raise families, and contribute every day. At Cambridge Immigration Law, we help make those journeys possible and secure, so everyone can belong.

Protecting Rights, Reporting Misconduct

Massachusetts has launched a new online portal where residents can report alleged ICE misconduct and submit documentation like photos or videos. This is an important step towards transparency, holding enforcement accountable, and protecting immigrant communities, helping to spot patterns of misconduct and support legal action.

🔗 Learn more and find out how to access here: https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2026/03/13/healey-campbell-launch-portal-for-reporting-ice-misconduct/?p1=hp_featurestack

Users can submit photos, videos, and written reports about any potential misconduct they witness from federal agents enforcing immigration law.
