Cambridge, MD! Ghost Stories! Try it? Nope I never did but my friends did! 😂

WATCH OUT... 👻

Do these three things... and you may regret it!

The oldest ghost story on the Eastern Shore? Since the Civil War, one of the oldest stories comes from Green Briar Swamp in Dorchester County. Years ago, there were thriving plantations in Dorchester County operated by enslaved people. In fact, Harriet Tubman worked on a plantation near Green Briar Swamp and began her Underground Railroad in this vicinity.

A plantation owner and smuggler found out that his most trusted enslaved person, Big Lizz, was spying for the North. He was appalled! So he told Big Lizz he needed her help hiding some money. Together, they went out into the swamp, and Big Lizz dug a hole. Once she buried the treasure, the plantation owner drew his sword and cut off Big Lizz's head! He left her there in the swamp.

Shortly after, his life began to crumble. He lost his money, his health, and his family. Then people began seeing strange lights in the swamp.

The story goes that people who investigate the swampy area never return. People report seeing Big Lizz coming out of the swamp near where DeCoursey Bridge is today. They see her holding her bloody head in her hand and calling, beckoning, and encouraging those who see her to follow.

Folks believe that she is coming out of the swamp to lead others to the dreadful plantation owner's treasure. But those who followed Big Lizz never came out of the swamp. Tales of headless bulls, wild men, and monsters in the mist were all part of the stories linked to Big Lizz.

The locals say that if you drive your car up to DeCoursey Bridge at night, when it’s completely dark, honk three times, flash your headlights twice, and then turn off your car... Your car won’t start again.

Big Lizz will emerge from the swamp, through the mist, with her head in her hand and motion for you to follow. She’ll lead you to the treasure...But follow at your own peril! 👻

Are you going to try it?

I am honored to announce that I have joined the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA), one of the nation’s leading organizations dedicated to eliminating housing discrimination and ensuring equal housing opportunities for all.

As a REALTOR®, Broker, Property Manager, and advocate for homeownership, I believe everyone deserves fair and equitable access to housing. Becoming a member of the NFHA strengthens my commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and fair housing practices within our communities.

I look forward to learning, collaborating, and continuing to serve as a voice for fair and affordable housing opportunities throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore and beyond.

Together, we can build stronger communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and achieve the dream of homeownership.
