A long time ago, I was just a new agent determined to put Mora MN real estate on the internet in an age of a lack of internet resources, to be honest. And in 2007, a social media blog/SEO engine for real estate became a community that I participated in quite frequently.
I was a pretty new agent, but made some pretty cool friends across the nation in this little social media world.
What is remarkable about this little world is that now, almost 2 decades later, many of those agents looking to find a corner of the internet to make their own are now in leadership positions throughout the country, helping consumers and other agents through volunteering, teaching, and mentoring.
This month, I attended the Minnesota Association of Realtors leadership training for members of the Board of Directors. It was a great day full of learning and networking, but my favorite part? Seeing an old friend, Maura Neill, who has been a far away friend since the beginning - 2007. Most notably, when I was pregnant in the winter of 2008, I could not for the life of me find marshmallow lover's hot chocolate (which I was craving because I was pregnant, obviously). She messaged me asking for my address, and a few days later a package of Marshmallow Lover's Hot Chocolate arrived on my doorstep, all the way from Georgia.
If someone told me back then that I would be on the Minnesota Realtors Board of Directors and Maura would be teaching us about leadership while being a leader herself on state and national levels, I might not have believed you. (At least about myself. Maura has always been incredible!)
I am very thankful for the connections made in the past and new connections throughout the years, but I am exceptionally proud to support real estate in Minnesota for the consumers, the agents, and the community.
