Dear members of the Harvard Black Pre-Law Association,
Our thoughts, frustration, and sadness focus on Jacob Blake, his family, and the city of Kenosha, WI now as we see yet another instance of police brutality and citizen violence against black people. We hope this community can be a source of support for any of you who are struggling during this painful time.
Our mission is to "provide exposure, information, and resources to students, black students in particular, about pursuing entrance into legal institutions and careers involving law." We strive to support black students on our paths to participate in, influence, and improve our nation's justice system. Upon reflection at the beginning of this summer, we decided to adjust our logo to better reflect the focus of our mission. With the help of Alexis Queen, Class of 2023, and the newly founded Harvard Design Collective, the executive board decided to make a change, now depicting Lady Justice as a Black woman.
We are excited to begin the 2020-21 school year with a logo that better represents our membership playing a role in the ex*****on of justice.
