ESTATE PLANNING FOR DIVORCING CLIENTS
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Divorce impacts more than your daily life. It can also affect your estate plans.

Here's a quick checklist to review during or after a divorce: 👇🏼✅
•Update your powers of attorney
•Revise or create a will to include or exclude your (ex)spouse
•Educate yourself on PA law (20 Pa. C.S. §S 2507, 2106, 6111.2) Inheritance typically skips a divorced or divorcing spouse, with some exceptions
•Update beneficiaries on accounts such as:
POD/TOD accounts
Life insurance
Survivor benefit plans (especially for pensions)
•Review and amend trusts or other documents naming your (ex)spouse
