Your friend offers you an Adderall to “see if it helps.” Seems casual, right? It’s not.
In Minnesota, possessing a prescription drug without a valid prescription is illegal. Even one pill qualifies.
And the friend who shared it? They can also be charged with illegal distribution.
Penalties depend on the type and amount of the drug, intent, prior offenses, and even where it happened. Charges can range from misdemeanors to felonies, with potential fines, probation, or jail time.
Prescription medications are not meant to be shared. Don't turn “try this” into a criminal record.
