Starting on January 1, 2026, Minnesota will have new legal protections for business owners who have become victims of business identity theft. Under the new law, business owners will be able to report wrongful filings to the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State, which will investigate and terminate filings if they are found to be fraudulent.
