🏆 It's A FIRST! 🏆
Science Olympiad Team Brings Illinois First National Championship!

It was an historic achievement not only for Stevenson, but the entire state of Illinois.

Over the weekend at Wichita State University, Stevenson's Science Olympiad Team won the 39th Annual Science Olympiad National Tournament. It was the first time Stevenson won the national title. On top of that, it was the first time ever that a high school from the state of Illinois won the Science Olympiad national tournament.

There were 60 teams from across the nation that battled for the top trophy, and now Stevenson joins an elite group that includes just 13 high schools from across America that have claimed a national title in 39 years.

Stevenson, coached by Ryan Korah, Kim Lubecke and Dr. Ann Maine, earned medals in 9 events and had 19 Top 10 finishes in the 25 events. Dr. Amerigo Carnazzola began the team and coached it for 20 years before stepping down prior to this year.

Trisha Mondal and Angela Wang teamed up to become the national champion in the "Write It, Do It" event.
