Our very own Attorney Ira Sterling will be leading a Beginner Guide to Powers of Attorney and Advanced Health Care Directives at Sunnybrook Village in Brunswick on Wednesday September 22nd from 6-7 p.m. This will be a helpful overview of these very important legal documents and a chance to ask questions. We are pleased and proud to announce that our colleague and friend Attorney Katherine Gatti Rooks has been appointed to serve as an Administrative Law Judge by the Workers’ Compensation Board for the State of Maine. Judge Gatti Rooks will be presiding in formal hearings from the Workers’ Compensation Board’s Lewiston Regional Office once her transition from our offices has been completed. The State of Maine is fortunate to have the skills and talents Kate will bring to the bench.

Thankfully Maine has not been as hard hit with Covid-19 as other states, however many of our fellow residents are facing the tragic loss of a loved one due to the pandemic. FEMA is offering financial assistance for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020 under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Hello Friends, we at Johnson Legal continue our diligent efforts to make our office safe and virus-free for our staff and visiting clients. Zoom meetings and conference calls have become popular ways to meet with clients, and we do our best to ensure a healthy environment when meeting clients for in-office appointments and will signings. The light at the end of this long Covid tunnel is hopefully not too far away. Please stay healthy, safe and well in the meantime!

Johnson Legal is grateful to Waterfront Maine and their dedication to keeping Fort Andross safe and clean for tenants and visitors. As of today July 9th face coverings are required when entering all Fort Andross common areas to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Their cleaning crew diligently cleans and disinfects the mill's restrooms, elevators, and common areas three times a day. They've got us covered, so we ask that you cover up too when planning a visit to Johnson Legal. Be well and stay safe!

JOHNSON LEGAL IS COVID-19 COMPLIANT

Hello friends and clients, we hope this message finds you safe and well!

The health of our staff and visitors to our office is at the forefront of our minds as we re-open for business. We are happy to report our office is in compliance with the state’s Covid-19 Prevention Checklist and we use EPA-registered Covid-19 disinfectants.

Johnson Legal’s current office hours will be 9-3 Monday through Friday, with exceptions for holidays. We encourage clients to make telephone appointments (725-9292) in lieu of in-person consultations. Our office entrance now has a doorbell so you can alert us to your visit. All staff members have face masks in case you need to directly speak with someone.

Should you need to finalize your estate planning documents, our legal team has a safe signing protocol in place, the details of which we are happy to provide.

Fort Andross has also increased its cleaning regime to ensure public spaces are repeatedly sanitized throughout the workday.
