Plan your loan process with plenty of time for an appraisal. Appraisal turn around times are longer than normal during Covid-19 combined with a heavy mortgage volume.

Sources agreed that record low interest rates are surging appraisals. The silver lining pointed out by several sources was a spike in appraisal waivers.

Hello, friends of Merrymeeting Midcoast Title.



We wanted to make you all aware that Governor Mills issued an Executive Order requiring nonessential businesses to close physical locations that allow in-person contact – effective March 25th through April 8th.

While our services can be considered "Essential Businesses" under Governor Mills' Executive Order, our intention is to work remotely as much as possible to help comply with the Governor's Order. This will enable us to remain at home while still accommodating our customers' needs during this critical time. We are making every effort to continue to be “open for business”, with the understanding that there is no “business as usual” during this time. Tasks may take additional time to complete, and communications might be slightly delayed. However, our commitment to serving our clients’ needs remains the same as always.

We continue to make employee and customer safety our top priority as we move forward through this difficult time. Our protocol for office meetings is in a constant state of evolution, as we implement new ways to minimize in-person contact. We are open to hear your concerns regarding upcoming closings and will work with you to make the process as smooth and safe as possible.

We have continued to monitor the COVID-19 situation hour by hour, to put the safety and welfare of our employees, our customers, and our community first.

With that in mind, the employees at Merrymeeting Midcoast Title have decided to work remotely. While our physical office will be closed, please note that our work will continue, business as usual. All scheduled real estate closing appointments and pre-arranged legal appointments with our team will continue to be held in our physical location.

With remote access, we are able to operate the same business as we do in the office, including accepting new business and clients. Working remotely just gives our employees a safer option in order to adhere to the social distancing guidelines presented by the CDC.

Email is the best way to reach us, but we are also happy to call you directly if you have more in-depth questions about anything. Our cell phone numbers will be listed on our individual outgoing voicemails. We will continue to evaluate the extension of working remotely, and encourage you to keep an eye on this page for information.

Here’s some helpful information and guidelines if you do have a closing scheduled with us in the next few weeks:

• We continue to follow an increased daily protocol to ensure that our office and conference room are cleaned and sanitized—with a strong focus on our conference room table and chairs, restroom and all hard surfaces you may come into contact with.

• In an effort to keep our clients and employees healthy, we are requesting all clients wash and / or sanitize their hands before their closing appointments. We have plenty of soap, handwipes and bottles of hand sanitizer.

• While we have plenty of pens for your use, we encourage you to bring your own blue pen to sign your paperwork.

In an effort to keep our clients and employees healthy, we are requesting all clients wash and / or sanitize their hands before their closing appointments. We have plenty of soap, handwipes and bottles of hand sanitizer.
