Remembering Jennie. Jennifer “Jennie” Bailey joined Basham & Scott in July of this year. In just three short months, she made an outsized impact on our team. She was a bright light who cared about her colleagues deeply, often leaving random notes of encouragement on our desks, “rallying the troops” for snack runs, and asking to see pictures of our pets as she shared pictures of her beloved Buzz. Words cannot express the loss, and our hearts go out to her family and friends.

Jennie was a bright light in our office and she will be greatly missed. Basham & Scott will be making a donation to a non-profit that supports victims of domestic violence, in her honor.

Anyone who knows Deb Henke knows that I am the luckiest person in the universe to have her as my office manager. The thing is, office manager doesn’t begin to cover everything Deb quietly, efficiently and with some kind of psychic power to already know what everyone needs before they need it, does at Basham & Scott every single day. Thank you Deb for juggling 6 million things a day, and on top of it all putting this beautiful fall bouquet and chocolates (how would I get through a day without chocolate?) on my desk for boss’s day. You made my day! Thank you!

TRAFFIC DETOUR NOTICE: BRUNSWICK/TOPSHAM - The Maine Department of Transportation will be performing a bridge inspection of the Frank J. Wood Bridge between Tuesday, September 14th and Thursday, September 16th. This bridge carries Route 201 between Brunswick and Topsham. The Frank J. Wood Bridge is a fracture critical bridge. The Federal Highway Administration requires inspections of fracture critical bridges at least every two years. Because of the poor condition of the Frank J. Wood Bridge, MaineDOT engineers inspect it annually.

This inspection work will impact traffic. Drivers should expect impacts between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on all three days. Southbound traffic moving from Topsham to Brunswick will be able to cross the bridge. Northbound traffic from Brunswick to Topsham will be detoured to the Topsham Bypass and Route 196. 🚗

The position will need an understanding of accounting guidelines to work with client trust accounts, vendor payments, and daily reconciling of bank accounts. Must be extremely detail oriented, multi-tasker with strong math skills. QuickBooks knowledge helpful but not required. MS Office programs knowledgeable, especially Excel. Individual will be working within Accounting team but independent worker after initial training period.
