The United States has one of the richest military histories the world has ever known. We owe a great deal of this national success to the individuals, across time, which have made up the ranks of our United States Armed Forces.
In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed November 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day. The United States Congress officially recognized the end of World War I, passing a concurrent resolution on June 4, 1926. An Act of Congress, approved May 13, 1938, made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday—dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as "Armistice Day." The 83rd Congress, urged by veterans’ service organizations, amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word "Armistice" and replacing it with the word "Veterans." With the approval of this legislation on June 1, 1954, November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars. On June 1, 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower signed legislation changing Armistice Day to Veterans Day. On October 8th, 1954 President Dwight D. Eisenhower issued the first "Veterans Day Proclamation".
The Law Offices of José Antonio Ramírez would like to honor the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force. Thank you to all of the military servicemembers and families who live lives of extraordinary sacrifice in honor of the ideals of Freedom and Liberty for all. Though alliances may shift and the theaters of war may change, this country has always had those individuals who are willing to sacrifice their own lives for freedom, for all.
Happy Veteran’s Day from the Law Offices of José Antonio Ramírez to all the military men, women, and families who have served our country; thank you all for your service.
