Join Karen Yau of Kakalec Law to learn about workplace rights

On Tuesday, July 6th, Karen Kithan Yau gave a presentation via Zoom to community members organized by CCBA, a community organization that works with the Chinese-American community, on Workplace Rights. The workshop was interpreted into Mandarin Chinese. The 15 participants soaked up information about minimum wage, overtime, and other aspects of wage and hour law, including the difference between “exempt” and “non-exempt” employees. Ms. Yau also discussed the basic rights under employment discrimination law and NYC’s Paid Safe and Sick Leave Law.

The next presentation that Ms. Yau will give on Workplace Rights will be on Thursday, July 15th at 2PM for the Sunset Park, Brooklyn community. This workshop too will be interpreted into Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. She is also scheduled to discuss Workplace Rights again in September 2021 for the Crown Heights, Brooklyn community.

If you are interested in joining these presentations, please contact Ms. Yau at [email protected] to get the details.
