Trusts can do a lot of good for families. They can be designed to assist with tax planning, asset management, or provide for individuals with disabilities. Personal effects are relatively easy to transfer to a trust. However, most everything else requires a formal transfer of ownership; some examples include real estate, vehicles, and bank accounts. We see it all the time. Signing a document to begin the process and then no follow up creates a trust that is just an empty box.
