Here's a challenge for you: try and close a door in your house without making a sound. No knocking the door against the jamb. No clicking the latch. No noise. Not that easy, right? Believe it or not, it can be easier to do with someone on the other side of the door pulling in the OPPOSITE direction. Gentle force in the opposite direction will make for a softer close, but it takes tremendous coordination from both sides, each side over or undercompensating based on what they feel as both sides pull.

Coparenting is no different. Without the proper balance, the "door" isn't going to close without a sound. And with too much pull from one side or the other, both sides lose control.

Reduced-rate mediation and Guardian Ad Litem services: In response to the COVID-19 safety protocols being implemented in our courts (our courts are essentially closed until at least 4/30/2020), I have decided to offer my services as a mediator and/or Guardian Ad Litem (representation of children) at drastically reduced rates to families experiencing financial hardships due to the COVID-19 shutdowns. Depending on your financial circumstances, I intend to offer mediation services at $100 per hour and GAL services based on financial need until 4/30/2020. Please direct all inquiries to me by email at [email protected] or call (203) 549-1170. Stay safe and stay healthy!
