Let your doctor do their job!

When seeing a doctor after your accident, tell the doctor every symptom that you've experienced since the accident. Don't try to guess which symptom was caused by the accident and which might be unrelated. They went to medical school; you didn't.

Some symptoms may come and go after an accident. Tell your doctor about EVERY symptom that you've experienced since your accident even if you don't have them on the date of your examination. If you're seeing your doctor on one of your good days, don't forget to also tell the doctor about your bad days.

What does the "PA" after my name mean? Is my office in Pennsylvania?

Actually, in Florida a professional corporation's name is supposed to utilize the words "professional association" or the abbreviation "P.A."

For some strange reason, Facebook does not recognize the abbrevation "P.A." and thus I must use the "PA" when listing my business name.

I practice and am licensed to practice law only in Florida, and not in Pennsylvania.

What is the most important type of automobile insurance?

In my opinion, every vehicle owner in the State of Florida should carry UNINSURED MOTORIST COVERAGE!

Uninsured motorist coverage can provide you with compensation if you are injured by a hit and run driver.

Uninsured motorist coverage can also provide you with compensation if you are injured by a negligent driver who carried only a minimal amount of bodily liability insurance coverage.

Why should you take pictures of the damage to the other vehicle involved in your accident?

Insurance companies, rightly or wrongly, assume that there is a relationship between the amount of visible damage to a vehicle and the severity of any bodily injury sustained by an occupant of that vehicle. In other words, if there wasn't much damage to the vehicle, how could anyone have been injured?

Many times the damage to the vehicle of the at-fault driver is much greater than the damage sustained by the vehicle occupied by the injured party. Having pictures of the damage sustained by the negligent driver's vehicle can go a long way in proving to the insurance company that this wasn't just a "minor" accident.

Everyone has a camera on their cellphone these days and this is a great tool to preserve evidence of your accident before that evidence disappears. If you're unable to take pictures yourself, ask a companion or even a bystander to take them for you.

If you've been involved in a motor vehicle accident, obtain pictures of the damage sustained to BOTH vehicles. In a slip and fall accident you will need pictures of the substance or item that caused your accident before it is cleaned up or removed. Do not assume that the negligent driver or the property owner will do these things for you!
