We agree, it should be illegal to forego inspections. Even in this crazy market it's just too much of a risk. There are other ways to win in a bidding war that don't require such a gamble.

Buyers are making offers sight unseen and waiving contingencies to win bidding wars in the highly competitive housing market. The rush to land a home now has many regretting their home purchases.

Curious about that new proposed neighborhood going in south of town? The developers of Blackmore Grove presented at the Community Affordable Housing Advisory Board this morning. Here are some slides covering the plan, specifically, related to the 26 units that will be considered affordable (meaning affordable for families at 70% of area median income (AMI). There's a slide at the end showing what this level was in 2018.
Keep in mind that the state legislature is debating a bill that would disallow communities to enforce inclusionary zoning rules. This subdivision would certainly look a lot different if they weren't required to provide 10% of their product be affordable. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES and let them know that cities need every tool they can get to help tackle our housing crisis!

This is beyond frustrating. We've tried 'carrots' (incentives) here in Bozeman for a LONG time with poor results. This would literally take away the only 'stick' in our arsenal. If you are concerned about the lack of affordable housing in our community PLEASE call your representatives and urge them to allow local governments to retain control over their policies.

A bill that would decimate Bozeman’s affordable housing ordinance received overwhelming support in the Montana House of Representatives on Monday.
