On Juneteenth, we reflect on the enduring importance of freedom, justice, and equal treatment under the law.

As a Navy veteran, a member of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, and the owner of Sheritha Bad Horse LLC, I understand the value of service and the responsibility that comes with supporting our communities.

My work as a process server is rooted in professionalism, integrity, and respect for due process—the principle that every person deserves proper notice and a fair opportunity to be heard.

Today, I honor the significance of Juneteenth and the continued pursuit of justice and equality for all.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Juneteenth.

What a better way to spend a rainy day then to sit at your local coffee shop to catch up on much needed office work.

O the places that I go.

📍 ISO Local Notaries in the Area

I’m currently looking to connect with reliable notaries in and around the Bowling Green / Warren County/ South Central Kentucky areas.

This is for networking and potential ongoing collaboration for document notarization needs related to legal and service work.

If you are a notary public or know one who is dependable and responsive, please feel free to comment or message me directly.

Looking forward to building local professional connections.

Running a business means learning the system one conversation at a time. Today brought a few setbacks, but also a lot of clarity.

I spent part of the day speaking with local offices and researching Kentucky civil procedure and service rules here in Warren County. One thing I’ve learned quickly is that process service is not just about delivering documents — it’s about professionalism, accuracy, reliability, and understanding court procedure.

I’m continuing to build systems, improve documentation, and prepare resources that make things easier for attorneys and clients who may need independent process service support. Every conversation and every obstacle is helping me better understand how to serve this community professionally.

Growth doesn’t always happen in big wins. Sometimes it happens in research, persistence, and showing up anyway.

Thank you to everyone supporting Sheritha Bad Horse LLC as it continues to grow.

On this Memorial Day weekend, I remember my shipmate Theophilus Ansong, who served with me aboard the USS San Antonio.
Honored to have served beside him. He is not forgotten.

Cases are frequently dismissed before ever reaching trial due to procedural errors under Kentucky law.

So far in this series, we’ve discussed:

• Failure to Prosecute (CR 77.02 & CR 41.02)
• Expired Statute of Limitations (KRS 413.245)

Today, I want to briefly discuss another common issue: Failure to File Required Briefs or Motions.

Parties involved in appeals or post-trial motions can have their cases dismissed when they fail to file required briefs, motions, or comply with appellate deadlines.

Case Example

Under Kentucky Rules of Appellate Procedure (RAP) 10, failure to file required briefs may be grounds for dismissal of an appeal. In the Kentucky Court of Appeals, pro se litigants often lose pending appeals due to missed deadlines, filing deficiencies, or failure to comply with briefing requirements.

Procedural rules matter. Even when someone believes they have a valid case, failing to follow proper court procedures can seriously impact the outcome.

This is one reason my work focuses on helping individuals better understand court procedures, filing requirements, deadlines, and case organization. While I do not provide legal advice or represent clients as an attorney, I assist with procedural guidance and document preparation support to help clients avoid common filing mistakes.
