After a more than forty year career in law I have retired and closed my offices. Thank you to all my clients and co-workers who helped along the way!

It is so rewarding to help people who have made the very tough decision to end their marriage work to resolve their differences. Most couples I help in mediation have their children's best interests paramount in their thoughts and it does my heart good.

I really enjoy working with divorcing couples who are trying to be fair and keep their children's best interests first. If you're divorcing you should always consult with your own, independent attorney, but if I can help you and your partner minimize the conflict, give me a call.

It's been a busy summer with travel, moving, and a family wedding! Things are calming down and it feels great to be back at work full steam. My mediation practice with couples whether during divorce or post decree is thriving. Let me know if you, or someone you know can use help resolving a conflict of any type.

One of the best features of Carrigan Mediation & Law, LLC is the presence of our emotional support dog, Finnegan. He is a large standard poodle. He really can tell when clients are upset and he will often come and set his head next to the person so he's there to be petted if that comforts you. Of course, if you prefer to have your mediation or meeting without a dog, let me know and he can make other plans for that day.

People often wonder what a Parenting Coordinator/Decision Maker (PC/DM) does for families. I'll tell you honestly, this is a HARD role. A PC/DM may be appointed by the Court, pursuant to Colorado statute, to help separated parents resolve conflict after parenting orders have entered. Very often these are parents who remain in high conflict after divorce or other breakup of their relationship. As a PC/DM my goal is 1) to make decisions in the best interests of the children; 2) get the parents out of conflict so they don't need me anymore! Yes, my goal is to put myself out of business!

Parental conflict is one of the most damaging things to a child. Children only get to have one childhood. As parents our job is to make that as good and healthy as it can be. There are lots of studies about the adverse effect of parental conflict on children. My goal is to save some of those children some of that pain.
