We focus primarily on high-end piano brands such as Steinway, Bösendorfer, Fazioli, Mason & Hamlin, Bechstein, Blüthner, Steingraeber, Sauter, Estonia, etc. We provide ground-up restoration of vintage pianos. We install new soundboards, pinblocks and bridges; new hammers, dampers and action parts; new key sets with certified legal (pre-ban) ivory or ivory imitation; full piano refinishing; bespoke, micro-balanced touch weight design; and refinishing with hand-rubbed lacquer finishes. A restored piano will look and sound like new--often better! No matter where in the country or world you live, if you have a piano you wish to have restored, we will arrange shipping and transportation to our workshop in Colorado so that your piano can experience a full Renaissance, and be brought back to new condition. We also provide piano rentals to the Front Range of Colorado. We specialize in long-term home rentals. Also a significant part of our business is providing rentals for special events such as concerts, corporate events, weddings, etc.

This WW2-era 1944 Steinway Model L grand piano was just shipped across the country to us for restoration. Looking forward to giving it a new life, restoring the original tone and touch, so that it can once again sound like a Steinway!

Here is my bubble level on a grand piano unison (three strings at the same pitch that comprise one note on the piano). Notice anything odd? The bubble way off to the right? Yep. Piano strings don’t level themselves. A very large number of pianos have never had their strings leveled, causing the strings to be out of phase, resulting in a tone that doesn’t sound pure and clean. If you’ve never had the strings leveled in your piano, ask your technician to do it next time they come to tune for you. You’ll be glad you did!

Did a heart transplant this week for this 7’ Korean (Young Chang) grand piano. Installed German (Renner) custom hammers and shanks. What a difference! Sounds like an expensive German piano now. 👍🏻 ,

Enjoyed servicing this $180,000 Bösendorfer grand the other day. The tone and touch is intoxicating, and the owner, Chris, is awesome.

As one of only approximately ten piano technicians in the US to have been invited to train at the Bösendorfer factory (1991), I love servicing these amazing pianos. ,

The humidity in the concert hall tonight was down to 5.3%. Not something we piano technicians prefer, especially under the pressure of concert tuning. That is super-dry. Average humidity in the Sahara Desert is around 25% RH.

That kind of low humidity is hard on any piano, but this one is a very special late 1800s historical instrument, and somewhat delicate/fragile.
