BLACK HISTORY IS LIVING HISTORY!

This year, we celebrate 100 years since the first commemoration of Black history in the United States by Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1926. Expanded to a month-long observation by presidential proclamation in 1976, February presents Americans with opportunities for introduction and recognition of Black figures who have influenced our planet and continue to impact millions around the world everyday.

Organizations across our community are inviting you to explore the history and honor the contributions of Black Americans in Boulder and worldwide.

ECAACE of Boulder County’s 2026 Black History Month programming will be guided by the theme: “Carrying the Torch: Unity, Truth and the Urgency of Now.”
