I have represented clergy sexual abuse survivors for decades.

I have represented and do represent Diocese of Providence clergy sexual abuse survivors.

This week a courageous clergy sexual abuse survivor informed me that he was allegedly sexually abused by the late Fr. Raymond C. Theroux.

The alleged sexual abuse took place in approximately 1996 when the survivor was about 9 years old on two separate occasions in the rectory of St. John Vianney Parish, Cumberland, R.I. after rehearsal practice for first communion.

Fr. Raymond C. Theroux is the brother of former Vicar General (from 2005 to 2010) Monsignor Paul D. Theroux who reportedly was a diocesan spokesman on clergy sexual abuse cases and has worked along with attorneys relative to the previous compensation program and settlement. He often listened to survivors' accounts and offered an apology.

Since none of this information concerning sexually abuse by Fr. Raymond C. Theroux was in the Attorney General’s report, Bishop Lewandowski should immediately publicly release all of the canon law 489 secret files so that survivors can obtain validation and the truth about what the Diocese of Providence, Bishop Gelineau and former Vicar General Monsignor Paul D. Theroux knew about Fr. Raymond C. Theroux sexual abusing a child.

By not releasing all the canon law 489 secret files immediately, Bishop Lewandoski is treating the canon law 489 files like the Epstein files. Consequently, survivors are being re-victimized through a cover up.
