In an industry that can sometimes be cutthroat competitive and shady people abound, it's important to remember hat our actions have consequences in the lives of other people, not just the building in the transaction.
A few days ago I received a phone call from a friend who needed to make a moral decision regarding a deal he's working on that could net him a lot of money and he became aware that the person on the seller's agent was doing some shady things.
Ironically, I had already passed on this same deal a few days prior when I learned that my friend was also interested.
It would have been easy for me to "claim" the deal since I had seen it first, it would have been easy for my friend to sign the contract and take the property in way that would ultimately hurt the seller but benefit everyone else involved.
We have to be better, remember to place people before profit, encourage collaboration over competition, community over selfishness.
There's plenty of food for everyone to eat at this feast.
