Summer wouldn’t be the same without these iconic inventions and the brilliant minds behind them:

💦 Super Soaker® – Invented by Lonnie Johnson, a NASA engineer who turned an experiment on an environmentally friendly heat pump into one of the most popular toys of all time!

🏄‍♂️ Surfboard – Revolutionized by Tom Blake, who added the first fin to a surfboard in the 1930s, forever changing the sport and making those summer waves way more rideable.

❄️ Air Conditioner – Thank Willis Haviland Carrier for helping us beat the heat by revolutionizing how we stay cool indoors all summer long.

Protect Your Business: Why NDAs and Employee Handbooks Should Be Separate 🤝📜

Many businesses make the mistake of including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) within their employee handbooks—but many do not realize this can dilute legal protections and create enforceability issues.

An NDA is a legally binding contract that safeguards confidential information, while an employee handbook sets workplace expectations and policies. Learn why keeping them separate matters and how to protect your business effectively: https://lnkd.in/eCSPs9TT

🏈 The Super Bowl isn’t just a game - it’s a battleground for legal and constitutional debates. How much power should the league have? 🤔⚖️

Chris McHattie was quoted in a past ESPN article about the NFL, its aggressive trademark defense and the Big Game.

The NFL's control over the Super Bowl hit a snag last week when a judge in Phoenix ruled that part of its plan for this year's game was unconstitutional.

Today we welcome President Trump as our nation’s 47th president. Seven years ago, President Trump signed patent 10 million at the White House - the first patent to use the new patent cover design, which was only the second substantial change to the patent cover in 100 years.

Fun fact: In 1790, President George Washington signed the first U.S. patent, issued to inventor Samuel Hopkins, for improvements in “the making of pot ash and pearl ash.” He continued to sign patents throughout his presidency, and we have many examples of patents being signed by early U.S. presidents, including John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, in our archives.

Although presidents no longer routinely sign patents, they occasionally get out their pen on certain special occasions like this one on June 19, 2018.
