A new month brings pumpkin patches, football weekends, and trick-or-treating. It also brings earlier sunsets, which means more drivers and pedestrians sharing the road in low light.

October is National Pedestrian Safety Month, so here are a few simple habits to carry into fall:

🚶 Walking at dusk? Wear something bright or reflective.
🚗 Driving? Slow down in neighborhoods, especially on Halloween night.
📱 Put the phone away, whether you're behind the wheel or crossing the street.
🎃 Parents: add reflective tape or glow sticks to costumes and keep a flashlight handy.
