Today, we honor the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787, a document that established the framework of our government and continues to serve as the foundation of our nation’s system of justice. 🇺🇸

As judges, attorneys, and citizens, we have a responsibility to understand and uphold the principles embodied in our Constitution: the rule of law, due process, individual rights, and an independent judiciary. Today, we celebrate not only the document itself, but the enduring principles it represents and the responsibility we all share in protecting them.

Continuing to learn. Continuing to serve. ⚖️

I was honored to speak at the 2026 Impaired Driving Symposium in Boerne, bringing together judges from across Texas for important discussions and continuing judicial education. It was also wonderful having strong representation from our Kendall County Justices of the Peace, whose commitment to continuing education strengthens our local judiciary and the communities we serve.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this important symposium and continues to uphold the integrity of the Texas justice system.

One of the most rewarding parts of serving as a judge is having the opportunity to mentor the next generation of legal professionals.

I'm currently mentoring two college interns who are interested in pursuing careers in law. As part of their experience, I'm teaching them about every step of our judicial system, from the courtroom to the behind-the-scenes work that keeps justice moving. 🏛️

Recently, UT sophomore Gavin Simmons had the opportunity to spend time with my bailiff, James Whitt, learning about the vital role a bailiff plays in ensuring courtroom security and supporting the judicial process. It's an honor to help inspire future lawyers and provide them with a firsthand look at how our justice system serves our community.

Celebrating the 4th with family, friends, and community. 🇺🇸

Grateful for the freedoms we enjoy under our constitutional republic and for the American flag that reminds us of the service and sacrifice behind those freedoms.

We also remember the lives lost in the 2025 flood and keep their families and communities in our prayers.

God bless Texas and the United States.

Have you ever wondered what a District Judge actually does in Kendall County?

District Courts handle some of the most important cases in our community — from family matters like divorce and child custody to serious criminal cases and civil disputes.

As Judge of the 498th District Court, it is my role to ensure every case is handled with care and according to the law.

Justice isn't just about the courtroom, it's about serving our community with integrity day in and day out.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness of the importance of safe, stable, and supportive environments for children.

I appreciated the opportunity to attend the Blue Breakfast and to participate in a panel discussion about the court system. The event brought together professionals from many fields who support children and families facing times of crisis.

Events like this provide an opportunity to promote greater understanding of the roles that courts, service providers, educators, and community organizations play in supporting children and families.

Thank you to SJRC Texas and Belong for hosting this event and for bringing attention to Child Abuse Prevention Month.
