⚖️ There is more than one path forward.

Not every family law matter needs to be resolved in a courtroom.

🤝 Mediation and Arbitration offer families alternative ways to resolve disputes that can save time, reduce stress, and provide greater control over the outcome.

💬 Mediation is a collaborative process where a neutral mediator helps parties work toward mutually acceptable agreements. The mediator does not make decisions but facilitates productive conversations.

📝 Arbitration allows parties to present their case to a neutral arbitrator, who then issues a binding decision—often providing a more efficient and private alternative to traditional litigation.

At Boyd & Early Family Law, we know that every family's situation is unique. Whether through mediation, arbitration, or litigation when necessary, we're committed to helping clients find the approach that best protects their families and their futures. 💙

📞 Wondering whether mediation or arbitration is right for your situation? We're here to help.

⚖️ You Can Ignore the Cubs, But Not a Court Order ⚖️

Boyd & Early Family Law LLC was proud to have Elizabeth C. Early, Esq. present at the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section Summer Meeting in Chicago, Illinois.

Liz joined an accomplished panel of judges, hearing officers, attorneys, and professionals for the program, You Can Ignore the Cubs, But Not a Court Order, which provided family law practitioners with practical guidance for handling contempt issues in custody, divorce, and support matters.

The presentation explored key aspects of contempt practice, including the burden of proof for civil contempt, drafting effective automatic triggers, establishing willful noncompliance, creating enforceable purge conditions, and avoiding procedural pitfalls that can undermine contempt actions.

Continuing legal education and the exchange of ideas among family law professionals help ensure that attorneys remain equipped to effectively advocate for their clients and navigate the ever-evolving challenges of family law practice.

Congratulations to Liz on sharing her knowledge and experience as part of this outstanding program, and thank you to the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section for hosting another exceptional summer meeting.

🎷 All That Jazz: Navigating Alimony 🎷

Boyd & Early Family Law LLC was proud to have Melissa M. Boyd, Esq. present at the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section Summer Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, as part of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) program that kicked off the conference.

As a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Missy was honored to join an esteemed panel of hearing officers, attorneys, and financial experts from across Pennsylvania to discuss how alimony is handled in counties throughout the Commonwealth. The presentation explored the varying approaches courts take when determining alimony, including considerations of duration and amount, the use of formulas, buyout options, and the role financial experts can play in preparing and presenting alimony claims.

It was especially meaningful to present in Chicago, home to the national headquarters of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, an organization dedicated to promoting excellence, professionalism, and expertise in the practice of family law.

Thank you to the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section and the AAML for the opportunity to participate in this outstanding program and engage in thoughtful discussions on one of the most complex areas of family law.
