Thank you to Mollie Ward (Ward 7) and Jeff Crabill (Ward 8) for advocating for victims of Bloomington city sewage back-ups. It is encouraging to see local leadership that is responsible to city residents.

A Bloomington City Council member is proposing the city come up with a plan to help residents whose basements were flooded with sewage after heavy rains in late June.

If anyone has recently had an insurance claim denied by the City of Bloomington for damage caused by the sewage backups on June 25-27 and is interested in pursuing legal claims, please give me a call or send me an email. City officials negligently ignored sewage backup problems that existed for years with the sewer system and are now calling their negligence an “act of God.”

This role will includes effective case management and completing administrative duties related to legal cases under the supervision of an attorney. The position is for 12-15 hours weekly and are flexible during weekdays from 9-5 p.m

Responsibilities:

Providing administrative support
Conduct research to support legal proceedings
Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents
Record and store client information

Excellent computing skills (navigation, use, and researching)
Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet programs (excel, etc.)
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Deadline and detail-oriented

Starting wage is $15.00/hour
Flexible hours within M-F, 9-5 schedule
Part-time 12-15 hours/week

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Provide administrative support to lawyer
Handle communication with clients
Manage case files
Simple legal research
Reading and filling out forms

Qualifications:
Proficient computing skills
Proficient word processing skills
Proficient reading and writing abilities
Ability to manage calendar
Good problem solving skills
