Virginia Tech's Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Chapter Our chapter holds bi-weekly meetings where a variety of highly regarded guest speakers in the legal field share their experiences and ideas.

We also hold two law panels each year. Phi Alpha Delta (PAD) is the largest co-ed professional law fraternity in the United States of America. PAD has members who are university students, law school students, lawyers, judges, senators, and even presidents.

Hey everyone,

Hope y'all had a great break! Now is that exciting time when the fraternity gets back into the swing of things, and we're kicking off our spring chapter right with a VT alumni who is now a circuit court judge! Here's the info:

Judge Josiah T. Showalter, Circuit Court judge from the 27th district.

-earned his BA from VT
-earned his JD from Stetson University
-adjunct professor here at VT in Business Law

The meeting will be at our same time and place, tomorrow (Tuesday the 12th) at 7 p.m. in Lavery 345.

This is a really cool chance to meet and hear from an active judge in our area, and he'll be happy to answer any and all questions!

In addition, refreshments will be provided, so I personally hope to see all of you there!

Pre-Law organization -- Informational session Tuesday, 9/18/2012

Are you considering whether a legal career is right for you?? Do you want to learn more about how to prepare for law school?? Do you have questions about law school and the law school admissions process?? If so, you are encouraged to attend the informational session for those considering membership in Virginia Tech's pre-law chapter of Phi Alpha Delta. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., in 103A Surge Space Building.

ABOUT PAD AT VT: Phi Alpha Delta is an international legal society. For those considering the possibility of a future career in the field of law, Virginia Tech's pre-law chapter of Phi Alpha Delta offers numerous resources for its members. We host speakers who share information regarding the LSAT, what law school is really like, the life of different types of lawyers, and many other areas of interest. PAD at VT also sponsors an annual Mock Admissions Panel led by admissions deans as well as a Law Panel in which various law schools send representatives to share information about different aspects of law school and the legal profession. Additionally, we arrange visits to law schools, provide opportunities for community service, make connections to Virginia Tech alumni/ae who have gone to law school, and create other opportunities for networking.

PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS: Meetings for prospective members are weekly or every other week, generally on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30. Come out tomorrow for our Spring Panel tomorrow at 7 pm in Torgerson 2150. We will be hosting George Mason, Liberty, and Washington and Lee. This is a great way to see how admissions work and ask specific questions. Can't wait to see you all there!
