Founded over 150 years ago, Bradley’s Birmingham office retains the tradition of Southern hospitality even as the firm has grown into a global legal force. Bradley’s first and largest office was founded in 1870 in Elyton, Alabama, before eventually moving to the newly established city of Birmingham in 1871. Home to a number of legal trailblazers, the firm’s ranks have included founding partner John P. Tillman, who served as the first president of the Birmingham Bar Association in 1885 and as president of the Alabama Bar Association from 1897 to 1898, and Ellene Winn, who in 1958 became one of the first female partners in a major law firm in the Southeast. The Birmingham office currently supports more than 100 charitable organizations across central Alabama. In 2022, the office launched the Black Small Business and Nonprofit Community Clinic, a joint project of Bradley and Legal Services Alabama (LSA), to provide accessible and affordable business-oriented legal services to local Black small businesses and nonprofits across the Magic City.

Bradley was pleased to sponsor a table at the 12th Annual Women’s Day Luncheon at The Country Club of Jackson, where Bradley attorneys Kate Margolis, Stevie Rushing and Molly Moody joined clients and friends Wendy Mullins, Teri Gleason, Karma Williams and Lindsey Nichols.

The luncheon featured guest speaker Lulu Gribbin, who shared her remarkable story of resilience following a life-altering shark attack in 2024 and her continued advocacy for other young amputees.

Bradley is proud to support law students pursuing meaningful public service opportunities through our scholarship fund at the The University of Mississippi School of Law.

This year’s recipient, Lillis-Ann Dunsworth, a second-year law student at Ole Miss, used the scholarship to support her summer internship with the Mississippi Center for Justice in Gulfport. During her internship, she worked on housing law matters, assisting clients seeking disability accommodations, facing discrimination, and navigating HUD complaints.

Lillis-Ann shared that the experience strengthened her client advocacy skills, broadened her understanding of the legal profession, and helped shape the kind of lawyer she hopes to become.

We are grateful to see the impact this scholarship can have in helping students pursue hands-on legal experiences while serving their communities.
