Lord, today I bring before you the birth mothers who, for many different reasons, are not able to raise the child or children they gave birth to. I thank You so much, Lord, for Your protection over them during their pregnancy, for their courageous decision to choose life for their children. I thank You for their strength and love for their children, the sacrifice they made to give their children a life that they were not prepared or capable of providing. I pray that You will strengthen them, grant them Your peace. I pray that the families who adopted their children will always view these birth mothers with love and grace, that they will always remember to include them in their prayers, and that they will raise their new children to respect and honor their birth family. I ask that You protect them and show them Your love. 💕

An adoptive Mother’s loving thoughts

November is adoption month. This came to me a few nights ago when I was thinking about the last year and thought I would share. This is way out of my comfort zone so here goes...
Adoption is a picture of the gospel.
It is a picture of brokenness. Broken from an unplanned pregnancy. Broken from a deep desire to be parents but grin and bare it when people ask if you want kids.
It is a picture of faith. Faith that God knows your perfect child and birth family. Faith on the hardest days that He is you carrying you.
It is a picture of hope. Hope for a future child and hope that you are making the right decision to place a child. Hope that we can rest only in God.
It is a picture of community. We would be absolutely lost without our huge tribe and their love for us. Our sweet baby is loved by so many that have prayed for him before he was conceived. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that God knows just the people to put in your life that will guide you through each step.
It is a picture of love. I can not even begin to imagine the love that birth mothers have when they place our sweet children into our arms.
Most importantly it is a picture of a fathers love. I can’t imagine the love God must feel when he looks at us all and when we throw our hands open to reach to Him. The small glimpse of that joy each day when we hear Mama or DaDa and that sweet smile comes across His face and those sweet arms reach towards us fills my heart in ways that are indescribable. I can only imagine the embrace that we will receive when we get to heaven. I hope I am running full force into His arms so excited to see Him like our baby does when he sees us.

Oh how we love our babies ♥️🐞♥️
