Dearest Sister, Iman,

To say that I miss you very much is an extreme understatement. There simply aren’t words for how deeply I miss you.

We were supposed to celebrate a big milestone birthday for you and John Markarian last year, but our hearts were overshadowed by a black cloud—the devastating loss of our youngest sister, Nancy Barsoum. Never knowing it would be your last birthday with us, we let that milestone pass without celebrating another decade of your beautiful and precious life. There is no way to give that day back to you, and I will carry that regret in my heart forever.

And now, you too have parted from us. Yet somehow, I still feel your presence. I hear your laugh, I see your beautiful face, and I know that your very essence and spirit live on within all of us who loved you.

Like Dad, Peter, Nancy, and our beloved family members who passed before you, your candle continues to shine. Your beautiful spirit, your unforgettable presence, and your uniquely wonderful style will remain in our hearts and memories forever.

Today, instead of dwelling on what we can no longer change, I choose to celebrate you—your life, your laughter, your beauty, and all the memories you left behind.

With gratitude, and with all the love in my heart and soul, I wish you the most glorious birthday in Heaven.
