SEEKING PART-TIME LAW CLERK - REMOTE/HYBRID
Well established AV rated small boutique IP firm seeking a second or third year law student to assist the attorney in a variety of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, transactional, and litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in intellectual property law, and at a minimum completed a trademark, copyright, and/or IP survey course.
The ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate initiative, have strong attention to detail and excellent organization and communication skills. Experience is preferred but not required. Candidate is at least expected to familiarize him or herself with basic concepts concerning trademarks, patents, and litigation. This is a great opportunity to learn new legal skills in a stimulating work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Assist attorneys, prepare pleadings, discovery, and legal research
-Assist with document review, client communication and follow-up, and any potential office or administrative tasks;
-Assist with drafting responses to trademark filings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office
- Assist with article/blog drafting of legal issues
This is a part-time position. Great potential for a law student with an open schedule, or a recent grad waiting for bar results. This position may lead to full-time.
You would report directly to the attorneys and senior support staff.
Requirements:
-Must be available to work at least twice a week from 9:30am-5:30pm.
- Completed Trademark law or IP survey course;
-Highly motivated & thrive in busy conditions with numerous deadlines;
-Be able to think quickly and independently;
-Good inter-personal skills;
-Strong MS Office;
-Comfort with rapidly changing priorities while keeping everything in motion.
