This month, we celebrate the seven-year anniversary of Ameri Law.

When I founded this firm seven years ago, I knew I wanted to build something different: a place where clients are treated like family, where communication matters, and where we help people not just for a moment, but throughout their journey.

I also envisioned creating an environment where future employees would feel valued, respected, and cared for.

As I reflect on the past seven years, I’m grateful for how much of that vision has become a reality. We've built meaningful long-term relationships, assembled an incredible team, and had the privilege of helping so many amazing clients.

And while I'm proud of what we've accomplished, I'm even more excited for what comes next as we continue to grow and scale.

Here's to the next chapter of Ameri Law. 🥂

Congratulations to Cailin Grantham on being selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for 2025–2027.

This distinction is awarded to a select group of attorneys who demonstrate outstanding professional achievement and peer recognition within their practice areas.

Since first joining Ameri Law as a legal extern in 2021 and later returning as a Senior Associate, Cailin has dedicated her practice to supporting production companies, producers, content creators, and digital media artists. Today, she advises clients on production legal matters, talent and production agreements, business and legal affairs, intellectual property, and emerging media projects.

A passionate advocate for the creative community, Cailin also regularly speaks to aspiring filmmakers and future entertainment attorneys, helping guide the next generation of industry professionals.

Since joining Ameri Law as a Law Clerk in 2022 and becoming an Associate Attorney in 2023, Kaitlyn has dedicated her practice to helping creators, artists, and entertainment professionals protect their rights and navigate complex legal matters. Today, she advises clients on entertainment transactions, intellectual property, artificial intelligence, production legal work, and media-related matters.

“How do you decompress?”

I absolutely love going to music festivals. I try to make it to two or three each year, and Ohana Festival is one I look forward to every time. Spending a weekend by the ocean, surrounded by friends and amazing music, is one of my favorite ways to recharge and reset.

Contracts are designed to create certainty, but they should also account for uncertainty.

A force majeure clause helps define what happens when circumstances arise that nobody could reasonably predict or control. It can impact deadlines, payment obligations, deliverables, and even whether a contract continues at all.

The most important thing to remember is that these provisions should be specific, balanced, and clearly drafted. Vague language often leads to disagreements when clarity is needed most.

When reviewing a contract, don't just focus on what happens when things go right. Pay attention to what happens when they don't.
