Today is the opening day of the 2022 Tax Season.

Although the IRS has been conducting its usual hub testing please keep in mind a few important things.

1. Do not rush to file or submit your documents until you have ALL of your proper paperwork.

This will cause delays and your tax pro may push your file to the back of the pile.

2. Just because your homegirl says, I done filed my taxes already”,don’t mean a hill of beans.

3. Tax returns containing EIC will not be released until after February 14th.

This doesn’t mean you will receive it soon after.

If your return contains any of the special credits such as, additional child tax credit, child and dependent care credit and stimulus payments, there is a high possibility your return may go into manual review.

The IRS still has over 5 million tax returns from 2020 to process.
