U.S. Department of state will allow U.S. citizens to seek an expedited immigrant visa process at a U.S. Consulate if they are physically present overseas with their Afghan, Ethiopian, or Ukrainian immediate family members and they have not yet filed an immigrant visa petition with USCIS.

Immediate family members include spouses, children under 21 years-old, and parents. This process is only available to applicants who have not filed an family-based immigration application already. If you have there are other expedited processes available.

Our Story

Proudly providing global service from Bellingham for over 10 years. Our office is conveniently located in the historic Bellingham Herald Building in downtown Bellingham, Washington, just 25 miles south of the U.S. border with British Columbia, Canada.

The firm’s principal, Nicholas Berning, has more than 10 years experience practicing U.S. immigration law. Throughout his career, he has helped clients obtain visas, green cards, and passports in various categories.

Boundary Bay Law works with individuals and businesses to navigate rapidly changing U.S. immigration regulations and policy. The firm's efforts are supported by dedicated paralegals Maralise Fegan and Leah Cook. Maralise obtained her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Whatcom Community College in 2012, and Leah completed the Certificate in 2017. Both have spent their entire paralegal careers with immigration law firms.
