⚠️🛑👀About a year ago I had an appraiser call out carbon monoxide detectors being needed for a home that didn’t have gas. The buyers and sellers both wanted to know why….it was because there was an attached garage and it was in case that an automobile was accidentally left running.
💔 A Tragic Reminder for All of Us
Today, our community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of five lives and 2 injured in Phelps County. Reports indicate carbon monoxide may have played a role in this tragedy.
First and foremost, our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, neighbors, first responders, and everyone affected by this unimaginable loss. There are no words that can ease the pain of losing loved ones so suddenly. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
🕊️ Carbon monoxide is often called the “silent killer” because it cannot be seen, smelled, or tasted. Many victims never realize there is a problem. In some cases, exposure can occur while people are sleeping, making it especially dangerous.
⚠️ Please take a few moments today to:
• Test your carbon monoxide detectors.
• Replace batteries if needed.
• Check expiration dates on detectors.
• Make sure every level of your home has a working detector.
• Have furnaces, water heaters, fireplaces, and fuel-burning appliances inspected regularly.
• Never run generators, grills, or fuel-powered equipment inside a home, garage, or enclosed area.
A simple detector costing just a few dollars can save lives.
